Paul Excell, CCIO, BT Group
Paul Excell is Chief Customer Innovation Officer at BT responsible for leveraging BT’s £1.2Bn investment in
Global Innovation to deliver world leading Innovation Propositions to BT’s key customers and partners (branded BT Engage).
Paul has 30 years experience in the Global Networked Economy covering a wide range of national and international assignments.
Paul was COO and Group Technology Officer @ BT Group and helped shape BT’s Innovation investment and 21st Century Network programme (£10bn investment).
Paul was VP, BT Global Services with end to end responsibility for BT’s Global Internet, Data and Voice Services and Solutions. Revenues supported
>€3 Billion with a global team of over 800 people. Paul led the BT UK Internet teams in the UK which put BT as #1 in targeted markets
and created the key platforms for Broadband Britain. A £300m+ per annum capital and development programme.
Paul is an alumnus of London Business School. He holds a Masters degree in Information Systems from the University of Essex
and an Honours degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of York. He is a Chartered Engineer and finalist
for the Sunday Telegraph National Management Awards.
He is a Member of the Engineering and Technology Board and Engineering Development Trust –
advising industry and UK Government on ICT and skills issues.
