Günther Ottendorfer, Technical Director, T-Mobile
As Technical Director of T-Mobile Deutschland, Günther Ottendorfer is responsible for the deployment, planning and operations of all radio and
core systems in Germany. Additionally, he holds international responsibility for operations of T-Mobile International. He is also a member of
the advisory board of T-City, Deutsche Telekom’s municipal innovation project.
Prior to his current position, he worked as Technical Director in Austria, responsible for IT and Technology as of 2002. At the time he was
internationally responsible for RAN Planning & Deployment of T-Mobile International.
Günther has over 20 years of experience in the telecommunications business. He began his career as a software programmer for Siemens on the
first GSM MSC and handset software in the early nineties. A special project included programming an ASN.1 compiler for different backends.
After a period as trainee in the Austrian and Hungarian cable industries, he worked as a sales project manager for mobile networks.
After joining Deutsche Telekom, he held various management positions at T-Mobile Austria from the days of early start-up until it became
one of the top 30 companies in the country.
In his role as CTO in Austria he was also Vice President of VAT (Association of Alternative Network Operating Companies) and a member of
the Austrian Chamber of Commerce (Chairman for the Austrian telecommunications and broadcasting companies).
Günther graduated with distinction in Computer Science from the Technical University of Austria.
