Description
The river Elbe gives Dresden its particular appeal and remarkable scenery. You will get to know Dresden's
riverside on a steamer ship. Starting at the historic city centre, you can enjoy the view while traveling
upstream. First of all, you will be guided to Albrechtsberg Castle, which was built in the early 19th
century and is nowadays part of the world heritage asset "Dresden Elbe Valley". The Castle with its noble
atmosphere provides an outstanding setting for balls, banquets and concerts, among others.
Afterwards, you will see the second of the three castles at the Elbe Loschwitz hillside: The Lingner
Castle. This exceptional building is a monument of late neo-classical architecture. The spacious premises
may be used for events, company presentations, symposia, workshops or concerts.
The highlight of the trip is the visit of Pillnitz Castle. The unique ensemble of architecture and garden
design, which is embedded in the vineyards of the Elbe Valley, was built in the early 18th century. It was
used among others as a summer residence of the Saxon monarchs. Worth seeing, apart from the castle itself
is the gorgeous French-style park asset with its impressive collection of botanical beauties and exotic
plants - above all the 200-years-old camellia, which blossoms every year. Nowadays, it hosts a museum and
states a popular destination for spending leisure time and enjoying cultural events here.

Description
The Church of Our Ladies (Frauenkirche) was built in the 18th Century of very hard sandstone from
quarries in the Saxon Switzerland. Its characteristic dome, the so-called "stone bell" owing to its
shape, collapsed in the Second World War during the bombing. For a long time, its ruins were an
impressive anti-war monument. The reconstructed church was consecrated in October 2005 and ever since
is a symbol of conciliation, largely rebuilt with donations from German and international foundations.
Nowadays, it again completes Dresden picturesque skyline. Interested participants may visit the church
and experience the unique ambience in this magnificent baroque dome.
